Dr. Jimmie Bullard has over 20 years of experience in the field of urban education. She holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master's of Education in Guidance and Counseling from Lincoln University. She completed her Master's in School Administration from William Woods University and later pursued further studies at the University of Missouri, Kansas City where she earned a Doctorate in Urban Leadership and Administration.
Dr. Bullard taught second through sixth grade at J.S. Chick Elementary School and the African Centered Education Collegium Campus (ACECC). She became the assistant principal and then principal at ACECC. During her tenure at ACECC, state test scores increased by 25% in three years, members of the school's robotics team traveled to the White House to meet President Barack Obama and 95% of parents participated in Parent/Teacher Conferences.
With a strong background in culturally relevant pedagogy, effective classroom management and curriculum/instruction, Dr. Bullard has worked with the University of Missouri as a Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) consultant, and instructional coach, curriculum writer and adjunct professor.
Dr. Bullard and her husband Kevin reside in the Kansas City area with their two children, Ayana (21) and Kaari (18) along with their beloved dog Isis. She enjoys history, writing poetry, reading, yoga, exercise and watching professional football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs.
